1st Sagay City Marañon Football Youth Cup kicks off

FOOTBALL continues to gain ground in Northern Negros with 10 teams converging at the Sagay City National High School field for the weeklong 1st Sagay City Marañon Football Cup.

Featured in this tournament, scheduled May 21 to 25, are Miriam College Manila, Bayawan City, Cadiz City, Negros Selection and host-Sagay North Negros.

The Boys 16 are Negros Elite, Don Bosco Victorias, Bantayan Cebu FC, KNF FC of Consolacion Cebu, Bayawan City, and Sagay North Negros.

Sagay City sports coordinator Benson Fernandez said that the staging of this football program is part of the city's trust to further promote this sport in the grassroots and have it as part of its tourism program.

Scheduled at 8 a.m. are Bayawan and Sagay North Negros in the distaff side followed by Sagay NN and KNF Cebu in the boy's side. (HGD)
