2-day Mansilingan 'Magsinadya' invitational chess starts November 23

ALL is set for the two-day Barangay Mansilingan 2018 "Magsinadya" Open and Kiddies Invitational Chess Tournament at A.L. Jayme Elementary School and Mansilingan Chess (ManChess) Club training center on November 24 to 25.

The rapid chess individual tournament format will have a time control of 20 minutes plus 5 seconds increment per move for 6 rounds of play in Swiss System.

Prizes at stake in the Kiddies category for the first placers are P2, 500 in 16-Under; P2, 000 in 13U; and P1, 500 in 10U. Top 10 finishers and special awards in these divisions will be given cash plus medals. This group is open to all chess players.

In the Open category, the champion will receive P2, 000 followed by the second placer with P1, 500, and third placer with P1, 000 including trophies.

Other top 10 finishers and special award winners will be given cash plus medals. This division is exclusive to registered Mansilingan voters only.

Registration fees are P150 for the age-group divisions and free for Mansilingan residents. Game for the age-groups starts on November 23 while the Open category will be on November 24.

This event is organized by ManChess Society headed by Engineer Nestor Cena, in coordination with the Barangay Council of Mansilingan. (HGD)
