2020 DFL 1st Conference kicks off

AROUND 500 young footballers from different parts of Negros Occidental suiting up for the 40 participating teams converged at the Sta. Maria Football Field in Talisay City over the weekend for the opening rites of the 2020 Dynamic Football League 1st Conference.

These teams include: (Mixed 7 Born 2013) - Dolphins FC, Villa Angela FC, Trinity Christian School, St. John's Institute A and B, Legacy FC, University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, Pontevedra and University of St. La Salle; (Mixed 9 Born 2011) - UNO-R Rams, SJI FC, Universal FC, USLS White and Green, TCS, Apolinario Mabini Elementary School, Pontevedra, Legacy FC, Mandirigma, Don Bosco Technical Institute Greywolves and first-timer Maradula FC; (Boys 11 Born 2009) - SJI FC, Bago FC, Sikatz Sum-ag, UNO-R Rams, St. Scholastica's Academy Bacolod, Mandirigma, Villa Angela, USLS, DBTI, Legacy FC, Dolphins FC, Magallon Tamaraw, AMES, TCS, and Pontevedra; and (Girls 15 Born 2005) - Fellowship Christian Athletes Barefoot, Team Rams, TCS, and Pontevedra FC.

For league commissioner Angelica Jochico, this conference is a continuation of what they have been doing since they started the program in 2013. “We expect that more kids will grow in this league while parents, coaches, and the organizers continue to learn from this experience,” she said. “As a community-based football program, we are looking forward to continuously spread awareness of this sport in different areas in the province.
