AdMU in NegOcc for goodwill games

FOR decades, Negros Occidental has been one of the top seedbeds of softball players in the country.

In recognition of the Negrense talents, the Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) softball team is in the province for a series of games against Negros Occidental’s finest and Western Visayas’ best teams.

The Atenean batters on Monday, January 13, 2020 take multi-titled Domingo Lacson National High School squad at the international standard diamond of Hda. Lonoy Ballpark in Silay City.

The Lacsonians for years have been the champions of the Palarong Pambansa, Philippine Series Little League Softball Tournament and Asia-Pacific Sotball Championship, and have represented the country in the World Series.

On Tuesday, January 14, the Ateneans will face a promising team from Murcia town, where many of the former World Series players came from. The Murcia team is also the 2019 Palarong Panlalawigan bronze medalist.

And on Wednesday, January 15, AdMU will play against the Iloilo team who currently reigns as the Western Visayas champion and is also a titlist in the Philippine Series Little League Softball Tournament and Asia-Pacific Sotball Championship. The Iloilo team has also represented the country in the World Series.

Ateneo will conclude their goodwill games on Thursday, January 16, with a match agaisnt Silay City softball team. (JSG)
