SACRED Heart School-Ateneo deCebu (SHS-AdC)/Mandaue City had a lot of scoring opportunities but failed to convert them, settling for a scoreless draw with Ozamiz City in the opening day of the 1st Oroquieta Cityhood Soccer Football Cup 2019 on Saturday, Feb. 2, in Oroquieta City.

Skipper Christian Lumapas had a perfect opportunity to give his side the lead in the 10th minute but he failed to convert his penalty kick after his shot went wide.

Leo Maquiling also had a chance to score in the waning moments of the game but he missed his target.

“We had lots of chances but we didn’t convert,” SHS-AdC head coach Oliver Colina told SunStar Cebu. “We will have some adjustments for the first 11 tomorrow. Maybe the morning game is more intense because CDO (Cagayan de Oro) is strong.”

Colina said he’ll put his strong 11 to start the match against CDO on Feb. 3, after mixing it up in their opener against Ozamiz City.

“I mixed it up because I wanted the other players to immediately gain confidence,” said Colina. (EKA)
