BACOLOD-BASED gymnasts recently showed the whole country what they are capable of when they won medals for rhythmic gymnastics at the Philippine National Games staged on May 14 at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila.

Althea Descutido, 16, of Trinity Christian School, won the gold medal in the hoop category of the seniors’ division, and took the bronze in the all-around, clubs and ribbon categories.

Former Palarong Pambansa gold medalist Kiana Marie Alagaban, 14, of Bacolod Tay Tung High School settled for bronze in the all-around and ribbon categories in the juniors’ category.

Being first-timers in the PNG, these achievements are beyond expectations and coaches Kris Joplo Leeping and Jenny Ramirez Claro could not be happier. (HGD)
