CADIZ City-based North Negros College recently bagged its 6-peat title in the Negros Occidental Private School Sports, Cultural and Education Association (Nopsscea) Season 38 Men’s Badminton Tournament played at the Pohang Badminton Center in Bacolod City.

Longno siblings, Kerr and Kenneth, along with the Nicor brothers, Jaylord and Clifford, and Jason Pampag delivered NNC’s fourth title in 2018.

“We won our first Nopsscea title six years ago with Ernesto Layao leading the team then Robert Aloyan spearheaded NNC the following year when we defended our title,” multi-titled coach Jordan Sun said.

“But, winning our six-peat is not just about us from Cadiz. This is all about our team in Negros Occidental as a whole representing Nopsscea in national Prisaa. We need to work hard as a team in order for us to achieve our main goal,” Sun said.

“We have titles as national champions for so many years and that is something to be very proud of,” he added.

Sun stressed that for the young athletes, “we have almost the same training program implemented daily. It is just that we as coaches and trainers wanted you to be more serious and committed so that we will be more aggressive in implementing the training at a higher level,” he said.

But, most of all, discipline is the key for a successful journey, he concluded.
