IT IS a battle of champions as the Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias, reigning Negros Occidental Private School Sports, Cultural and Educational Association men’s basketball champion, and Iloilo Doctor’s College, defending Iloilo Schools Sports Association titlist, clash today for the Philippine Collegiate Champions League Region 6 knockout game at the STI-West Negros University gym, 1 p.m.

This event is hosted by Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) provincial head Tony Agustin.

Agustin said the winner of this knockout game will earn the rights to represent Western Visayas to the Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) Zonal Elimination in Davao early next month. “The winner of this zonal will advance to the PCCL National Championship in Manila,” he added.

The PCCL along with SBP has organized these inter-collegiate basketball tournaments in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao in a bid to further strengthen the collegiate basketball landscape through a nationwide school-based competition.

The league's format varies every season with 250 teams coming from nine different regional areas nationwide.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
