AFTER months of staying home due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Kaya FC-Iloilo under Coach Yu Hoshide is back on the pitch to begin their physical training ahead of the resumption of the Philippine Football League season.

The Kaya FC began their training last Wednesday at the Philippine Football Federation Training Field in Carmona, Cavite. The team had their training schedules every Wednesday and Saturday.

For veteran San Carlos City-born wingman Jayson Panhay, they felt very excited upon knowing that they will return training on the field. "We are very very excited and happy that finally, we are back on the pitch," said Panhay. "We got a great first day of training but, everyone seemed to be uncomfortable with the heat. It was too hot," he described.

Panhay, however, said that this would be temporary and they will eventually be used to it. "We will soon adapt and adjust when the training continues in the same condition," he added.

The team, meanwhile, has their Zoom training every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. "Since the lockdown, we had our fitness training online. We have to do this to keep ourselves fit before returning to the field," he said.

Kaya FC's top custodian Michael Casas affirmed that they have to do extra training off the pitch to maintain their fitness and readiness ahead of the actual field training. "It was hard and tough having been away from the pitch for many months. We have to work harder," he said.

PFL teams have slowly started to have their training after the IATF already given them the clearance to proceed.
