Loptta to send Tanate for advanced training in China

THE Lopue’s Table Tennis Association (Loptta) headed by Dr. Leonito “Diotay” Lopue will be sending Micah Tanate to Beijing, China for an advanced training camp this November.

The University of St. La Salle mainstay bagged the gold in the Cadet Girls singles division in the recently-concluded 2018 Batang Pinoy National Table Tennis Championship held at Benguet Sports Complex covered gymnasium in La Trinidad, Benguet.

The Marell Lagunday-mentored paddler dominated all her opponents in the round robin stage of Batang Pinoy without a defeat.

In the quarterfinals, she won over Kyla Pabalan of Iligan, 3-0 and outplayed Janna Mae Paculba of Cagayan de Oro in the semi-finals, 3-1.

In the finals, Tenate faced Cebu’s Lindy Marie Darlo for a rematch after both featured in the Visayas qualifying leg in Dumaguete. Tanate dominated the match, 3-1. (HGD)
