REPRESENTATIVES of the Philippine Badminton Association in coordination with the San Carlos City Sports Office held a badminton training seminar Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at the Consuelo Alger Community Center Function Hall in Barangay Rizal.

The seminar is aimed at helping the participants grow in their respective careers as coaches thru technical knowledge which could qualify them to the competitions such as the Philippine National Games, Batang Pinoy, Palarong Pambasansa and the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, a press release from the city government said.

Some 17 participants mostly from the Department of Education (DepEd) underwent the seminar for sports code of conduct and technical officiating, knowledge examinations and practicums for badminton coach accreditation.

Ma. Judith Brosula, Technical Committee Chairman of Philippine Badminton Association said she wants to share her knowledge to level up the games patterned after the Badminton World Federation's (BFW's) Shuttle Time Teacher Training Course which is the highest accrediting body of the badminton sport.

She urged everyone to commit to their duty as coaches and make sure to contribute to the local government in improving the quality of every game held.

Nathan Joel Dominggo, Teacher 1 of Bagonbon National High School said the meeting is beneficial to them since they were only taught about the basic rules of badminton.

He added that it will equip them with the knowledge which they can also impart to their students.

Participants of the said training will also undergo BWF Shuttle time teacher training from November 8 to 9 and BWF Coaching Course Level 1 from November 10 to 15. (PR)
