NegOcc-Sagay futsal runner-up in Batang Pinoy

THE Negros Occidental-Sagay City futsal team settled for first runner-up in the just-concluded Batang Pinoy National Finals held in Baguio City.

The Negros Occidental squad bowed to Mandaluyong, 2-1, after both teams ended on a 4-all draw in the eliminations.

The Sagaynons secured a spot in the finals with 3-2 edge in the penalty shootout over Don Bosco Cebu after both sides ended the regulation, 4-all.

Sagay also downed co-host Benguet, 5-1, in the quarterfinals.

Football consultant Warren Concepcion thanked Governor Alfredo Maranon Jr., and Sagay City Mayor Alfredo Maranon III for supporting the team and the football program of the city.

Meanwhile, Sagay City Sepak Takraw Girls also scored wins against Pangasinan, 21-17 and 21-11; and Olongapo: 17-21, 21-11and 21-17. (HGD)
