Singwangcha, ABF give local boxers, trainers relief assistance

Sunnexdesk

AROUND twenty boxers and trainers from Bacolod City and Negros Occidental on Monday, November 2, 2020, received relief assistance from Thai philanthropist Naris Singwangcha’s Singwangcha Foundation and Asian Boxing Federation.

The handing over of the said assistance was facilitated by Bacolod Amateur Boxing Association (Baba) headed by Juan Ramon "Monju" Guanzon at the association’s training facility.

For many years, Singwangcha has been helping in promoting Philippine boxing - especially Filipino boxers.

The arrival of this assistance is very timely given that everyone has been struggling to look for alternative jobs to support their respective families, said former Games and Amusement Board Chairman and boxing promoter Guanzon.

Prior to the pandemic, Baba alongside Singwangcha Foundation was able to run professional weekly tournaments that gave every boxer a take-home incentive — aside from the opportunity to be developed as future stars in this sport. (JSG)
