STI-WNU takes 3x3 tourney Leg 1

STI-West Negros University (WNU) Mustangs took an early lead in the ongoing Chooks-to-Go NBTC 3x3 basketball tournament after winning the first leg of the 18 Under and 20 Under divisions over the weekend at the STI-WNU covered court.

STI-WNU Team B dominated the Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias Titans, 21-12 for the 18U leg finals after routing La Consolacion College-Bacolod in the semis, 14-8.

CSAV earned the finals berth by beating Colegio San Agustin Bacolod in the other semis match, 18-10.

STI-WNU Team A ruled the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, 21-11, to take the top post in the 20U category.

The Leg 1 winner also dominated University of St. La Salle in the semis, 21-13, while UNO-R downed STI-WNU B, 21-17.

All games in Leg 2 will resume on Sunday at 8 a.m. at St. John's Institute.

This event is supervised by Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas provincial head Tony Agustin and Bobby Tee as tournament commissioner.
