THE suspected triggerman in the 2013 killing of Bukidnon-based radio commentator Joash Dignos was arrested on Friday, a police official said.

The suspect, Dionisio Daulong, was arrested in his girlfriend's house in Barangay Paitan, Quezon town in Bukidnon, around 5:30 a.m. Friday.

Gunmen attacked Dignos at a restaurant in Bukidnon on November 29, 2013. He sustained 22 gunshot injuries.

Criminal Investigation and Detection Group chief Director Benjamin Magalong said Daulong was arrested for two counts of murder, two counts of frustrated murder and attempted murder for his alleged involvement in the Batistil criminal gang. The group is responsible for several organized crimes in the region, including highway robbery and gun-for-hire activities.

Daulong is one of the most wanted criminals in Northern Mindanao.

Aside from Daulong, police also arrested incumbent barangay councilor Ancieto Lopez for alleged harboring of the accused.

Authorities recovered a firearm and ammunition from the arrested suspect.

Dualong is detained at the CIDG-Northern Mindanao jail. (Sunnex)
