2 dead, 3 hurt after ambulance falls off cliff

TWO died while three others are now undergoing treatment after the ambulance they were riding fell into a ravine in the morning of January 14 along Sitio Bad-ey, Doddo, Barangay Talubin, Bontoc, Mountain Province.

The ambulance is owned by Hungduan Municipal Hospital of Hungduan, Ifugao which came from the Lyis Regional Hospital in Abatan, Bauko, Mountain Province and was heading back to Ifugao when the accident happened.

Dr. Diga Gomez, Bontoc Municipal Health Officer, who was at the site declared the two victims dead at the site of the accident.

The fatalities are identified as Earole Kurt Akiate, 21 years old and Franklin Angawa, driver of the van, 37, and both are residents of Barangay Hapao, Hungduan.

The other three victims are identified as Rexton Abluyen Duyapat 20, Nelda Joy Angawa Tapyugon, 23, social worker of Hungduan Municipal Hospital and Anabelle Attang, 32, nursing attendant of Hungduan Municipal Hospital.

All three are also residents of Hapao, Hungduan.

Duyapat and Tapyugon were confined at the Bontoc General Hospital whike Attang was referred to Luis Hora Regional Memorial Hospital at Bauko, Mountain Province. (SunStar Baguio)
