2 killed in Abra shooting

A FARMER and a businessman were shot by still unidentified suspects as violence mars the weekend in Abra province.

Farmer Amante Montorio Caray, 56, and resident of Supiil, San Juan Abra was shot by unidentified suspects in the morning of September 1.

A belated police report revealed the farmer was already dead when his body was found by a certain Joseph Ola who then reported the incident to the San Municipal Police Station.

Police also reported residents in the area heard four gun shots in the area around 5:00 p.m. of August 31.

Authorities recovered several 12 gauge shot gun ammunition.

In Bangued town, Randy Julio Bragas Daria, married, owner of Niños Barber Shop and resident of Barangay Macray, Bangued, was shot by unidentified suspects, also on September 1.

Investigation showed the victim was about to cross the road when a male person wearing a black jacket with hood came from behind and shot the victim on the head then fled to an unknown direction.

The victim was brought to Seares Hospital in Bangued by concerned citizens but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Investigation of the killing is still ongoing.
