2 nabbed for illegal drugs possession in La Trinidad

ANTI-NARCOTICS operatives arrested two suspected drug pushers in a drug bust in La Trinidad, Benguet.

Joint personnel of La Trinidad Municipal Police Station and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of Benguet Provincial Police Office apprehended Alexander Chavez Gucilatar, 45, a native of Quezon province and a resident of Puguis, La Trinidad.

A policeman who acted as buyer recovered one heat-sealed transparent sachet of substance believed to be shabu, P5,000 cash and one cellular phone.

The suspect was turned over to the Benguet Provincial Jail based on the inquest resolution signed by the Associate Provincial Prosecutor for violation of Section 5 of Republic Acts 9165 and 9165.

Another suspected drug pusher, identified as Jaime Asqueta Apellido, 36, porter, a native of Pangasinan and a resident of Tabangaoen, Balili, La Trinidad, was also nabbed.

Seized from the suspect were two heat-sealed transparent sachets of shabu, one cellular phone and buy-bust money.

Police Colonel Elmer Ragay, Benguet Provincial Police Office officer-in-charge, commended the personnel for the arrest of the two suspects and for their intensified campaign against illegal drugs.
