TWENTY-SIX barangays in Baguio City are on partial lockdown over the weekend to give way for contact tracing and health and safety protocols.

Barangays on the list released by City Hall indicate the specific areas of each areas to be locked down.

Over the weekend, active cases in the city have reached 639 with 32 deaths and 1,799 recoveries.

The city recently swabbed 1,142 individuals during the three-day mass testing, but only 19 tested positive and 1,123 were found negative for the virus.

The testing exceeded the target of 1,000 individuals who underwent the Covid-19 test backed by the National Task Force on Emerging Infectious Disease (NTF-EID) Aggressive Community Testing (ACT) program in coordination with the local government units, Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) and John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC).

The round of mass testing for Covid-19 is scheduled in Baguio City with La Trinidad, Itogon and Tuba in Benguet Province.

Baguio City is on the heels of an outbreak of infection from a city restaurant and is moving for stricter health standards measures in establishments while protocol will be checked to verify if establishments are complying. If found to be remiss, automatic closure and revocation of permits to operate will ensue.
