Baguio City bans PDA in parks

LOVERS who publicly display their affection in parks will no longer be welcome in parks.

A new ordinance was passed on first reading prohibiting kissing, petting, necking, and lying down together within the premises of children’s park at Burnham by Councilor Joel Alangsab, aiming to protect children from seeing lewd acts at the park.

“The children’s park is a fun filled area for kids and a favorite family destination within the famous Burnham Park. A place where families have a great time to bond with relatives and friends,” Alangsab said.

Alangsab added it has been observed that lovers from all ages often choose the same as a dating site and do private and intimate acts which are inappropriate for the children to see.

“These inappropriate acts are inimical to the welfare and moral of the children visiting the park, hence, it must be regulated,” he added.

The ordinance defines kissing – as the act of touching someone with your lips to show affection or sexual desire while petting refers to the act of sexually caressing and touching someone affectionately with necking defined as the act of kissing and embracing passionately and lying down together in a scandalous manner.

Penalties and fines will also be up for violators if the law is approved.
