HUNDREDS take to the streets to support Vice President Leni Robredo’s call on Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) to dismiss the protest filed by losing candidate Bongbong Marcos.

Supporters of Robredo gathered in various parts of the Philippines to show solidarity, as the country awaits a crucial decision on the electoral protest of Marcos.

In Baguio City, Robredo supporters held a program in front of the Supreme Court compound at Upper Session Road late Monday afternoon, where they prayed for a fair ruling from PET.

Among those who led the gathering were City Councilors Poppo Cosalan, Mylen Yaranon, and Art Alad-iw.

“Noong nanalo po si Leni noong 2016 dahil binoto natin, nakita natin na kahit madilim—madilim iyong kalagayan natin, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel—si Leni iyon,” Yaraon said, addressing a crowd of about 100 supporters, including members of the Liberal Party in Baguio and vendors at Burnham Park.

“Hindi natin ho papayagan na itong ilaw na ito na nasa dulo ng kadiliman ay mawawala pa. Kailangang ipaglaban natin,” she added. “Nandito ho tayo para bigyan ng suporta ang hustisya, at bigyan natin ng enlightenment ang ating mga Supreme Court judges na ang decision nila ay ilabas na ang katotohanan na si Leni talaga ang panalo at hindi sila papayag na mananaig ang kadiliman dahil sa kagustuhan lang ng mga sabik sa power, mga sabik sa mga gusto nilang mangyari na alam naman natin hindi na puwedeng mangyari dahil tayo mismo, niluklok natin si Leni Robredo.”

In Robredo’s home city of Naga, supporters held a similar gathering in front of Museo ni Jesse Robredo Monday night, reiterating their stand that their fellow Nagueño won the vice presidency.

Meanwhile, hundreds more in Cebu City marched holding up bobble heads of the Supreme Court justices, calling on them to “not betray the Filipino people.” A Mass was then held at the Sacred Heart Parish Church.

Students and faculty of the Ateneo de Manila University, meanwhile, staged a noise barrage along Katipunan Avenue, to call on the PET to uphold its own rules and dismiss Marcos’ electoral protest, given the projected lack of substantial recovery in the recount held in three pilot provinces, Camarines Sur, Iloilo, and Negros Oriental.
