Baguio tops peace and order performance audit

BAGUIO City garnered a first level ranking for the 2018 Peace and Order Council (POC) performance audit after obtaining a 90.86 percent leading seven other local government units (LGUs) in the Cordillera region.

In a release coming from the Department of the Interior and Local Government-POC performance audit, the local government unit of Baguio City obtained a perfect score from four of the five pillars of peace and order aside from the good practice on integrated participatory community building program for persons with substance disorder (PSUD).

The POC audit team also gave weight on the actions of the city government in establishing a PSUD program as best practice of its human rights, justice, peace and order council.

Fifth class component Tabuk City in Kalinga Province obtained an Outstanding POC performance with 82 percent while Ifugao Province had 87.43 percent.

The municipalities of Bontoc, Paracelis, Bauko, Tadian and Barlig in Mountain Province obtained a passing rate for the municipal category while the municipalities of Mankayan and Tublay in Benguet; Boliney, Bucluc, Daguioman, Lacub, Lagangilang, Lagayan, Licuan-Baay, Malibcong, Manabo, Penarrubia, Pigpdigan, Sallapadan, San Quintin and Tayum in Abra Province failed the peace and order audit.

The peace and order audit was in response to President Rodrigo Duterte order for LGUs to have a data of their performance especially in maintaining peace and order in their communities.
