A QUICK count is set for the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) for the May 13 local and national elections.

PPCRV ground coordinator Father Manuel Flores said close to 2,000 volunteers are ready for the unofficial parallel count of returns after the Monday elections.

Flores said the PPCRV in Baguio and Benguet set up its headquarters at the Bishops Residence and vowed to finish the parallel counting in three days.

He said the manual count begins when polls close on Monday, where a hub at the headquarter waits for election returns and input it to a computer system.

The PPRCV, according to Flores, would be given a copy for each precinct’s election returns, which would be taken in as data for the counting.

The PPCRV will help in the count for the in 128 villages of Baguio and the 13 municipalities of Benguet.

The PPCRV is a non-partisan, non-sectarian, non-profit organization affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church in the Philippines that works to ensure free, fair and fraud-free elections in the Philippines and has been serving as the citizen’s arm of the Commission of Elections since 2010.

PPCRV’s activity includes advocating for electoral reforms, conducting parallel manual auditing in automated elections, coordinating parishes to conduct poll-watching, providing legal assistance related to elections, reporting of electoral violations, providing voters’ assistance services.

The PPCRV is a national parish-based political but non-partisan lay movement that works assiduously for Clean, Honest, Accurate, Meaningful, and Peaceful elections.
