Benguet drug bust nets 4 suspects

FOUR individuals were arrested in various anti–drug operations in Benguet province last week as part of the Benguet Police Provincial Office’s sustained simultaneous anti-criminality and law enforcement operation.

Aldwin Piacos Agusdan, 24, unemployed, was arrested on October 8 after allegedly selling to a poseur buyer two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) weighing 0.2 grams.

Also recovered from the suspect were one cellular phone and cash. Operatives of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit – Benguet PPO, La Trinidad police, Provincial Intelligence Branch-Benguet, RID, RIU-14 and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Benguet conducted the drug bust in Km. 5, Betag, La Trinidad.

Four days earlier, on October 4, a joint team arrested Joven Ediong Plomen, 29, self-employed and native of Sagpat, Kibungan after selling to a poseur buyer one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu.

At 8:30 p.m. of the same day, Buguias MPS, Mankayan MPS, Benguet PFMC, Benguet PDEU/PIB and RID arrested Miller Delfin Ambros, a farmer and a resident at Lamagan, Abatan, Buguias.

Confiscated during the operation were two small sized heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu weighing 0.68 grams and valued at P2,000 as well as P1,000 cash.

At about 11:45 p.m., Buguias MPS, Mankayan MPS, Benguet PFMC, Benguet, PDEU/PIB and RID arrested 28–year–old Florante Fernandez Jr., a farmer and a resident at Lepanto, Mankayan, Benguet, in another drug bust.

Confiscated during the operation were three small size heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu weighing 1.94 grams and valued at P5,000 as well as P1,000 cash.
