SOME 64 members of the Police Regional Office–Cordillera (PRO-COR) successfully underwent a four-month course for mandatory safety training for all police motorcycle riders through the guidance of the Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) in the region.

Police Brigadier General Rolando Nana, PRO–COR director together with PNP-HPG director Police Brigadier General Roberto Fajardo, said this particular kind of training is vital especially during operations in the highways.

“This motorcycle riding safety course is a welcome development because our police personnel now are trained to ensure their safety, skills and knowledge as riders effectively improving their services,” Nana said.

Fajardo added the HPG wants to ensure all police motorcycle riders are knowledgeable and aware of the safety procedures in riding a motorcycle to effectively perform their duties.

Nana also welcomed the donation of additional motorcycles coming from various stakeholders as this will give the opportunity for the cops in other areas of the region to skillfully perform their tasks.

“Our stakeholders have played a vital role in supporting the PNP. In Baguio City just recently, additional brand new motorcycles were donated to be used by our Policemen which is a testament to the support of the local government units not only in Baguio but throughout the region to their Policemen,” Nana added.

Among the noted graduates of the four month long Motorcycle Riding Course and the Motorcycle Riding and Safety Training is Baguio City Police Office director Police Colonel Eliseo Tanding who headed the participants.
