Domogan okays amnesty for power, water connections

Sunnexdesk

BAGUIO City Mayor Mauricio Domogan announced he is in favour of the approved ordinance granting amnesty to power and water connection applications by residents in the city’s barangays.

But he said this should not be used to hold in abeyance the eventual demolition of illegal structures in identified danger zones, forest reservations and safeguarded lands around the city.

The local chief executive said his notation in the approved six-month amnesty program for power and water connection applications is not actually a veto but it was just to underscore the importance of sending the proper message to local legislators and the residents that the grant of amnesty should not be used as a defense to defer the demolition of illegal structures in the different parts of the city.
