‘Drug trader’ caught in Benguet drug bust

A SUSPECTED drug trader was caught after allegedly selling “shabu” to undercover police in a drug bust on August 27 in Lower Acop, Caponga, Tublay, Benguet.

Police report said Santos Pedro Sagada, 26, and native of Kayapa, Bakun, Benguet was nabbed while on the act of selling suspected illegal drugs to the poseur-buyer of the PNP operating team.

Confiscated from the suspect were one piece of heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu”, P1,000 cash used as drug bust money and one cellular phone.

Sagada, currently residing in Tublay, was brought to Tublay MPS for documentation while a case for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of RA 9165 was filed against the suspect before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.

Colonel Lyndon Mencio, Benguet Provincial Police Office director commended the operating teams from Tublay MPS, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit-Benguet, Provincial Intelligence Branch-Benguet, Regional Intelligence Division and La Trinidad MPS–DEU for the success of the operation and thanked the continuous support of the community.
