Foreign drug mules arrested in Ifugao

TWO foreign nationals were nabbed for transporting marijuana dried leaves in Lamut, Ifugao.

Anti-narcotics agent from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Ifugao arrested Saffi Mohamednur, 28, male and presently residing at Veraville, Las Piñas City; and Negash Abede Natnael, 24, and presently residing at Leveriza St., Asiawealth, Pasay City.

Confiscated from the two Eritrean students are dried marijuana leaves in tubular forms worth P780,000 during a checkpoint operation along National Road, Poblacion West, Lamut, Ifugao on October 22, 2019.

Eritrea is a country in Northeast Africa.

According to PDEA, The two suspects boarded a bus from Bontoc bound to Cubao when they were intercepted by joint elements of PDEA – Ifugao, PDEA - Mt. Province, PDEA-RO2 Nueva Vizcaya, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit - Ifugao, Lamut Municipal Police Station, Ifugao Police Mobile Force Company, and Mt. Province Provincial Police Office.

On initial investigation, Authorities also found out the student visa of Natnael and Mohamednur already expired last 2018. (SunStar Baguio)
