TO SUPPORT constituents with limited resources amid the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic, officials of Benguet’s capital town, La Trinidad were seeking food pack assistance from the Department of Social Welfare Department (DSWD) in the Cordillera region.

During the regular session of the town’s Sangguniang Bayan, lawmakers passed a resolution requesting augmentation from the DSWD-Cordillera for family food packs.

The resolution disclosed the limited resources of the Municipal Government have been exhausted and even food packs and basic necessities purchased have been depleted.

Officials are also worried that current resources will not be able to extend needed support to the stakeholders.

“Impending extension of the implementation of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) might further worsen the present situation, thus, our request for family food pack assistance augmentation from DSWD – CAR,” the resolution notes.

The measure was forwarded to DSWD-CAR with the Disaster Response Operation and Monitoring Information Center report attached relative to the town’s Covid-19 ECQ disaster response.
