CUT flowers from La Trinidad, Benguet can now be purchased in Pampanga.

The municipality, together with the town of Guagua in Pampanga recently entered into an agreement to grant flower farmers to have direct access to the market.

Mayor Romeo Salda and Guagua, Pampanga Mayor Dante Torres signed the memorandum of agreement witnessed by officials and stakeholders of both towns dubbed “La Trinidad blooms in Guagua” making cut flowers available at the Pombrera Business Center in Barangay San Matias along Jose Abad Santos Avenue.

La Trinidad Vice Mayor Roderick Awingan disclosed the end goal of the partnership is to have a “bagsakan” of cutflowers from the municipality adding the local government unit of La Trinidad and Guagua eyes Guagua as a cutflower hub of Central Luzon.

“It is important our products have a market as alternative and additional outlet not only in Metro Manila,” Awingan said.

Awingan added one of the challenge for the project include sustainability and strengthening of the project.

Once the project becomes successful, Awingan said outlets for vegetables are also being studied.

Aside from chrysanthemum and other cutflowers, potted plants and succulent plants will be sold in Guagua.
