MORE than 20 persons were injured in several road crash incidents that happened Wednesday, May 22, in the Cordillera Administrative Region, said police.

In Kalinga, 10 were injured in a road accident involving a pick-up truck and a passenger van along Nambaran, Tabuk City.

Police said the pick-up truck, driven by Aaron Harold Yamashita Chungalao, was headed for Bulanao from Nambaran when it collided with the passenger van driven by Dominador Lagasi Maguilao.

Police said the truck turned turtle, injuring the two drivers, Ben Bautista, June Ogayan Belmonte, Pio Basia Datul, Mildred Pagtud Malidab, Deborah Onnon, Aguinaldo Dayag Abulo, Michael Romorin Maddela, and Devin Mark Maguilao.

The victims suffered minor injuries and were brought to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital. The vehicles are now in the custody of Tabuk City Police Station.

In Abra, 11 passengers of a public utility jeepney were hurt together with the driver identified as Roy Catriz after crashing in a slope in Barangay Bugbog, Bucay on May 22.

A motorcycle without a plate number also figured in an accident after its driver, Mier Tolentino Cabarubiasat, lost control of the steering handle and crashed into a tree along Bacsil-Angad, Bangued.

Responding personnel of Bangued Municipal Police Station and the Regional Mobil Force Brigade rushed Cabarubiasat to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment where he is confined.

Police said the rider was drunk.

In Baguio City, a motorcycle and a jeepney collided, injuring rider Dominador Tuazon Coritana.

Police reported that Coritana was descending Lower Magsaysay Avenue when the motorcycle collided with a public utility vehicle driven by Alejandro Dick Ngalngalo, who allegedly counter-flowed and has taken over the outer left lane.
