P50–M marijuana eradicated in Tinglayan

ANTI-NARCOTICS agents in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) continue their marijuana eradication operations in Tinglayan, Kalinga.

Operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Cordillera (PDEA-CAR) destroyed 251,500 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants during a three-day operation on July 23 to 25 in Barangay Loccong, Tinglayan.

PDEA said the illegal weed was grown on 18 plantation sites with a land area of 18,300 square meters worth P50,300,000 which were uprooted ad burnt on site.

This is the first eradication operation conducted by operatives in the Cordillera for the second semester in the Province of Kalinga under PDEA-CAR Oplan: “LINIS BARANGAY XIII” and PNP OPLAN: “GREEN PEARL DELTA”.

This successful Marijuana eradication was through the joint efforts of PDEA Kalinga and Apayao Provincial Offices, PDEA RO1, PDEA RO2, PDEA 4B, Tinglayan Municipal Police Station, Kalinga Police Provincial Office, PDEU/ PIB, KPMFC 1st and 2nd COY, and RMFB 1503rd COY. (SunStar Baguio)
