Tesda offers free online classes

LEARNING in the time of Covid-19 crisis can be achieved.

Free online classes can be availed through the Technical Educational and Skills Development Authority’s Online Program (Tesda–Top) with 63 classes without fees required in accessing the courses.

Glenn Murphy and Belmar Angoling of Tesda who attended a recent meeting of the academe with Baguio Mayor Benjamin Magalong announced the national online program which can be of great use in the time of the Luzonwide enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

The courses include Automotive, Agriculture, Human Health/Health Care, TVET, Lifelong Learning Skills, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Condition, Processed Food and Beverages, Maritime, and Social Community Development and Other Services, basic Computer Education, Setting Up Computer Networks, Solar Night Light Assembly, Preparing Cakes, Preparing Meat Dishes and Food Processing.

Tesda Cordillera is led by regional director Manuel Wong.

The Top website, www-e-tesda.gov.ph can also be accessed through the Tesda app, downloadable from Google Play and Apple Store.

Meanwhile the Tesda-Baguio City School of Arts and Trades (BCSAT) has joined in the city led Nurtribun project to help augment the nutritional needs of communities.

BCSAT has ten bakers who produce at least 300 pieces of bread for the frontliners and communities daily.

BCSAT administrator Arlene Cadalig explained the project is in response to Tesda director General’s directive to provide assistance and support to efforts in containing Covid–19 and the “bayanihan” endeavor of Tesda Cordillera.

BCSAT also produce muffins, cookies and pizza to the city relief operations at the PFVR Gym.

Cadalig added the food operation center is adjacent to the school, the BCSAT offered the use of its hostel as accommodations for the CSWDO frontliners during the duration of the ECQ.

The hostel can accommodate eight to ten individuals. (With PR)
