DIFFERENT sectors in Baguio City who were severely affected by the implementation of enhanced community quarantine amid Covid-19 pandemic crisis but not qualified for government subsidy were given relief packs through the 1500 Akinse project.

Founded by Baguio City Councilor Philian Weygan-Allan and her family, the project aims to raise 1,500 food packs to be distributed to those who were not included in the lists of SAP and Tupad beneficiaries but needed assistance.

Weygan-Allan said all sectors regardless of status in life are qualified to benefit from the project which was launched on May 6 coinciding with his father former Baguio Councilor Galo Weygan’s birthday.

Those who benefited from the project include the senior citizens, vendors, PWDs, Kalipi Women, some members of the media, and the stranded students such as those staying at Barangay Aurora Hill Proper.

The food packs distributed to the beneficiaries contained rice, salt, vegetables, fresh adobo cut chicken, canned goods, and noodles.

Organizers of the project are thanking all donors who supported and believed in the cause being implemented weekly in the city.

May this project continue with the support of more donors to serve those in need of help amid the ongoing pandemic crisis.
