THE Summer Capital’s athletes continue to shine and bring it honor in the world arena.

Proving once again that the city’s athletes are world class, Jenelyn Olsim, a member of Muaythai Team Philippines, fought her way to a gold medal during the East Asian Muaythai Championships held at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Hong Kong on August 19.

A resident of San Carlos Heights, Irisan barangay and a member of local team Tribal Submission Philippines “Team Bagsik,” she won in the event’s 54 kilogram category beating top-class contenders from other countries.

For her feat, city council members jointly and collectively passed a resolution and signed by Mayor Mauricio Domogan congratulating and commending the Muaythai champion.

“Ms. Olsim’s victory has brought pride and honor not only to herself and her family but to the City of Baguio and the country as a whole,” the measure states. (PR)
