LA TRINIDAD has allowed non-contact organized sports activities since June 1, 2020.

However, health and safety guidelines should be strictly followed according to guidelines set by the Municipal Inter-Agency Anti-Covid Task Force.

Allowed indoor and outdoor non-contact sports and other forms of exercise are but not limited to walking, jogging, running, biking, golf, swimming, tennis, badminton, equestrian and skateboarding.

Under Executive Order No. 34-2020, gyms, fitness studios and sports facilities in the town were allowed to open at a 50 percent maximum operation.

All are required to wear facemasks, maintain social distance, and no sharing of equipment.

Jogging is allowed at any available wide spaces in the town and at the Benguet Sports Complex in Barangay Wangal, La Trinidad from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. after Governor Melchor Diclas decided to open the facility.

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF) on May 24 has given the green light for the resumption of non-contact sporting activities in areas under a general community quarantine (GCQ) due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

In the IATF Resolution 38 passed on Friday and was made public on Saturday, athletes and enthusiasts of running, biking, golf, swimming, tennis, badminton, equestrian and skateboarding among others in GCQ regions can now play the sports they love again "provided that the minimum public health standards such as the wearing of masks and maintenance of physical distancing protocols and no sharing of equipment when applicable are observed."

The resolution also stated that facilities which cater to the said sports can reopen but they will be "limited to basic operation."

The IATF earlier allowed walking, jogging, and biking activities in areas under a modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ). (With a report from PNA)
