Vicente: SEA Games ready?

Jayson Vicente

IT’S JUST a few months before the 30th Southeast (SEA) Games that will be hosted by the Philippines which will run from November 30 to December 11, 2019.

Up to now, venues are being refurbished and constructed but aside from the venues the big question is: Is the Philippines ready to host the SEA Games and is Team Philippines ready for it?

Why the wonder? The firing of people involved in the 30th SEA Games just few months before the biennial regional multi-sport event questions the credibility of the officials to manage the event.

The credibility of the people just recently installed is not the problem but the preparation they have to undergo in a short period of time while other countries take a year minimum.

There is even information circulating about the preparations of the respective NSA’s that some has yet to finalize their line-up for the SEAG.

We just hope that everything would turn out fine with everything in our preparations for the hosting of the 30th Southeast Asian Games, the biennial regional multi-sports event as all eyes will be on the Philippines as it welcomes thousands of athletes coming from the 11 member countries.

We also hope and pray for fair and righteous performance from our players as it will reflect credibility and capability of Filipino athletes and the Philippines as a host.
