THEY say starting is the hardest part.

This was realized by the United Arnis Alliance (UAA) when it hosted its “UAA 1st Arnis Invitational Tournament” August 17 and 18 at the Markina Sports Complex spearheaded by Armado FMA Deftac International under the leadership of Maestro Melchor William Amosco.

The goal of the tournament is to help propagate arnis and seeing so many of our arnisadors from all ages and from different organizations is just overwhelming and a blessing for the National Martial Arts and Sports of the Philippines.

According to Amosco, the event is among the first steps of the UAA to reach out to the arnisadors especially the youth to ignite their interest in our very own martial arts.

We also aim to provide a credible avenue for the athletes to hone their skills and a chance to be in fellowship with their fellow arnisadors.

It is the first and it will definitely not be the last as UAA sees similar events in the future with each event as a learning stage with the help of the many organizations who believes in the true spirit of the Filipino martial arts, arnis.

The goal is not farfetched and it will have a precedence of quality and excellent event that we all could prepare for and look forward to.

The UAA 1st Arnis Invitational Tournament was participated by more than 30 teams from different places and organization with close to 300 athletes coming into unison, to make the event a success.

Amosco said the next event will surely be better after learning from this event adding UAA will look for ways to make it better for everyone while welcoming comments and suggestions.

Amosco also thanked the UAA staff, Armado FMA Deftac Int’l staff, the grandmasters/ elders, sponsors, technical officials, parents, coaches and athletes as he called on everyone to continue to improve in Filipino Martial Arts and live by its principles and values.
