1 dead, 1 hurt in Kauswagan road mishap

A 31-YEAR-OLD woman died after she and her father, both riding a motorcycle, collided with a dump truck around 10 a.m. Monday, November 9, along the Kauswagan junction in Cagayan de Oro City.

According to Police Lieutenant Colonel Allan Curato of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office, the woman was identified as Maria Moreyn Proquinto, a resident of Zone 4, Pasil, Barangay Kauswagan. She worked as a finance officer in Cagayan de Oro City Water District (Cowd).

The driver of the motorcycle is her father, Monico Briones Proquinto, 63.

Curato said Maria Moreyn died on the spot while her father was brought to the JR Borja General Hospital.

Marcelino Pelesco Gerongco, the driver of the dump truck, is now in the custody of the city police.

Curato said the incident is still under investigation.
