14 Cagayan de Oro residents contract coronavirus

THE Cagayan de Oro City Health Office recorded 147 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, one of which is a returning overseas Filipino worker (ROF) and 146 are local transmissions.

This brought the total number of confirmed infections in the city to 8,286.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 146 new local cases, 39 were close contacts of previously confirmed cases, 19 were local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), 82 were local index cases and six deaths.

Of the 8,286 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 441 were under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 7,845 cases were local transmissions.

Cagayan de Oro logged 1,630 active cases, 399 of whom were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 1,230 were outpatients, and one ROF.

The city also registered 94 new coronavirus-positive persons who were now tagged as "recovered," bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 6,285, with a 75.85-percent recovery rate.

Of the figure, 314 were LSIs, 124 were ROFs, and 5,847 were local cases (community: 4,918; Apors: 929).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 371.
