1,600 cops to secure Caraga during ‘Undas’

PJ Orias

THE Police Regional Office (PRO) in Caraga will deploy over 1,600 police personnel to cemeteries, churches, ports, bus terminals, and other places of convergence to ensure that the observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days will be peaceful and orderly.

Aside from the establishment of Police Assistance Desks and Motorist Assistance Centers in the different areas in Caraga, the Explosive Ordinance Disposal unit and K9 teams will be deployed to strategic areas where heavy influx of people is expected.

“Police operations will be intensified before, during, and after the All Saints’ and All Souls’ days to deter the lawless elements who may take advantage of the situation and carry out their nefarious plans,” said PRO-Caraga director Gilberto DC Cruz.

Cruz also urged the public to be prudent and vigilant while leaving their homes, when traveling or taking public transport, and when they are in cemeteries.

"We also remind the public not to carry prohibited items inside the cemeteries during the ‘Undas’ period," he added.
