17 new Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro

THE City Health Office of Cagayan de Oro reported Wednesday, February 17, 17 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, all of which are local transmissions, health officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said.

This brought the total number of confirmed Covid-19 infections in the city to 3,697.

Nery said of the 17 new local cases, 10 are close contacts of previously confirmed cases and seven are local index cases.

Of the 3,697 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 422 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 3,275 cases are local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 3,275 local cases consist of 186 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), 1,731 local index cases and 1,358 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 364 active cases, 61 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city and 303 outpatients.

The city also registered 25 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered." This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 3,156.

Of the figure, 302 are LSIs, 119 are ROFs, and 2,735 are local cases (community: 2,307; Apors: 428).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 177.
