18 residents in Cagayan de Oro infected with coronavirus

THE Cagayan de Oro Health Office has logged 18 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, all of which are local transmissions, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus infections in the city to 2,365.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 18 new local cases, 12 are close contacts of previously confirmed cases and two are local index cases.

Of the 2,365 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 389 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 1,976 cases are local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 1,976 local cases consist of 155 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), 1,003 local index cases and 818 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 477 active cases, 58 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center, 399 are outpatients and 20 are ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 21 new coronavirus-positive persons, who are now tagged as recovered after their repeat swab test results came out negative. This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 1,785.

Of the figure, 268 are LSIs, 100 are ROFs and 1,417 are local cases (community: 1,163; Apors: 254).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is at 103.
