19 residents of Cagayan de Oro contract coronavirus

THE Cagayan de Oro City Health Office logged 19 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases over the weekend, all of which are local transmissions.

This brought the total number of confirmed coronavirus infections in the city to 3,800.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 19 new local cases, 10 are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, five are local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), and four are local index cases.

Of the 3,800 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 422 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 3,378 cases are local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 3,378 local cases consist of 186 persons deprived of liberty (PDL), 1,781 local index cases and 1,409 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 185 active cases, 43 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city and 142 are outpatients.

The city also registered 21 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered," bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 3,433.

Of the figure, 302 are LSIs, 119 are ROFs, and 3,012 are local cases (community: 2,563; Apors: 449).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is at 182.
