PJ Orias

TWO close relatives of the dead Covid patient from Macanhan, Barangay Carmen who have tested positive for coronavirus remain asymptomatic at the City Isolation Unit.

City epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya said the new cases in Cagayan de Oro are the 63-year-old husband and 42-year-old daughter of the 62-year-old patient from Macanhan who died on May 20 .

There are now 12 confirmed coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in the city.

Retuya said the two have no unusual signs and symptoms since they were transferred from their home last May 21. They have been staying in the CIU for a week now.

Retuya said, however, that they have admitted one individual identified as the family's close contact in Macanhan. The patient has flu-like symptoms but already tested negative for coronavirus.

But the patient remains admitted at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center's respiratory ward.
