TWO drug suspects were killed after they allegedly fought back against police operatives in a sting operation in Villanueva town, Misamis Oriental over the weekend.

The suspects were identified as Jason Cabajar and his cohort Gomercindo Moral Jr.

Police said Cabajar fired his gun when he noticed they were dealing with anti-drug operatives while his cohort attempted to throw a grenade, prompting authorities to retaliate.

The suspects were rushed to the hospital but were declared dead on arrival.

Investigators said Cabajar has a pending arrest warrant for frustrated murder.

Police seized a caliber .38 revolver, a hand grenade and seven sachets of suspected “shabu” or methamphetamine hydrochloride.

Misamis Oriental Provincial Police Director Colonel Robert Roy Bahian lauded the operating personnel for its efforts to eradicate illegal drugs and other forms of criminality in the province. (SVB)
