269 new Covid-19 cases recorded over the weekend

THE City Health Office of Cagayan de Oro has noted a continuous rise in the number of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, as the city logged 269 infections over the weekend.

The cumulative confirmed cases in the city have reached 14,932.

The City Health Office said of the 269 new cases, 154 were local index cases, 54 were close contacts of previously confirmed cases, 40 were local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), 15 were Apors with link, and six were mortalities.

The active cases in Cagayan de Oro have reached 2,541, of which 753 were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city and 1,788 were outpatients.

Cagayan de Oro also registered 137 new coronavirus-positive persons who were tagged as "recovered," bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 11,748.

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 642.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
