3 areas in Cagayan de Oro under localized focused containment

THREE separate areas in Cagayan de Oro were placed under localized focused containment after some of its residents tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Placed under focused containment are the portions of Purok 1 and Purok 3 in Barangay Puerto and a portion of Sitio Sambag, Zone 8 in Barangay Bugo.

Around 30 families in Purok 1 and Purok 3 and 15 families in Sitio Sambag are affected by the containment. Nic Jabagat, chief of the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Department (CDRRMD), said that all of them have received food relief early Monday morning, October 5.

Jabagat added that they will continue to provide food aid to affected families for the duration of the containment period.

According to the CDRRMD chief, the containment are in Purok 1, Barangay Puerto is located at the back of the barangay hall near the basketball court. It is housed by 13 families.

Purok 3, on the other hand, has a gated house with a firewall and is populated by 17 families.

Jabagat said the cordoned site in Sitio Sambag, Zone 8 in Barangay Bugo is an elongated strip of land located ahead of a public school site and populated by 15 families.

As of October 5, Cagayan de Oro has 11 containment zones that are still in effect, three of which are scheduled to be lifted on Tuesday, October 6.
