3 killed, 3 hurt in Bukidnon head-on collision

A HEAD-ON collision involving a truck and another car claimed three lives and injured three others along Sayre Highway, barangay Maluko in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, on Tuesday, November 12.

Initial investigation showed the dump truck was going downhill towards Dalwangan, Malaybalay City when a Mitsubishi Adventure coming from the opposite direction swerved and hit the truck head-on.

The driver of the Mitsubishi car identified as Prince Klerc Borja died shortly after being rushed to the hospital while two of the passengers Emmanuel and Anecita Barabat were declared dead on arrival.

The other three wounded passengers, Joey Cantarona, Maylene Cantarona and Benjamin Sabay, are now in stable condition.

Investigators said due to the impact, the car swept away 50 meters from the crash site.

The driver of the dump truck is now under the custody of Manolo Fortich Municipal Police Station and will likely face charges.
