34 residents in Cagayan de Oro contract coronavirus

THE Cagayan de Oro City Health Office has logged 34 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases over the weekend, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus infections in the city to 3,256.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 34 new cases, 16 were close contacts of previously confirmed cases, five were local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), and 13 were local index cases.

Of the 3,256 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 418 were under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 2,838 cases were local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 2,838 local cases consist of 185 persons deprived of liberty, 1,435 local index cases and 1,218 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 383 active cases, 117 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 264 outpatients, and two ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 20 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered." This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 2,710.

Of the figure, 299 are LSIs, 116 are ROFs, and 2,295 are local cases (community: 1,934; Apors: 361).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city was at 163.
